Kim Dae-jung,
South Korea

Nobel Peace Laureate, 2000

"We are witnessing a truly sad and tragic reality.

"We have been hearing shocking news that there has been indiscriminate terrorist attacks against major establishments in the United States. It is an enormous challenge to the peace and safety of all humanity. I am sure all of you were shocked and concerned about the latest incident.

"Terrorism is the enemy of all peace-loving people around the world. Whatever the reason and whatever the target of attack, terrorism is the most heinous crime that no one should commit.

"I strongly denounce terrorism that threatens the life and safety of people."

President Kim Dae-jung, South Korea
